Bringing live piano entertainment to your event in Leeds

A major Yorkshire city with a thriving cultural scene

Leeds is one of Yorkshire’s leading centres for culture, business and live events, bringing together grand Victorian architecture, modern city venues and a strong independent creative scene. Its compact centre supports everything from major conferences and gala dinners to weddings, private celebrations and live performances.

The city has a long connection with music and the performing arts, reflected in venues such as Leeds Town Hall, the Grand Theatre and First Direct Arena. Alongside these landmark spaces, converted industrial buildings, hotels, country houses and venues across the wider Yorkshire area provide a broad setting for events of very different sizes and styles.

Leeds also sits at the heart of a closely connected group of Yorkshire towns and cities. Bradford, Wakefield, Harrogate, York, Huddersfield and Halifax each contribute their own venues and audiences, giving the wider area a varied and well-established events calendar.

From formal city-centre occasions to celebrations in the surrounding countryside, the Leeds and Yorkshire event scene combines scale, character and a strong appetite for live entertainment.

What makes a great duelling pianos?

What is duelling pianos all about?

Two pianists perform face-to-face, take audience requests, play back-to-back songs, and build a high-energy singalong atmosphere. The set is largely decided by the audience, with guests handing in requests throughout the show.

Despite the name, duelling pianos is not a literal musical battle. While performers may playfully challenge each other — trading solos, switching pianos, or encouraging the audience to “choose sides” — the emphasis is always on working together to entertain the audience.

What makes a great duelling pianos entertainer?

A great duelling pianos entertainer requires much more than strong musicianship. A huge repertoire of songs is “a must“ in order to satisfy the requests coming in and performers need be able to read the room, adapt quickly and keep guests engaged throughout the night.

Duelling pianos is a fast-paced show, the entertainers must be able to think quickly on their feet and provide music, banter and entertainment that keeps everybody immersed in the performance.

What events are duelling pianos popular at?

On the whole, weddings, corporate events, awards evenings, charity functions, gala dinners, private parties and major live events are the majority.

Different line-ups allow duelling pianos to work equally well in intimate private venues, large corporate spaces and high-profile live event environments.

Frequently Asked Questions

A fast-paced show, featuring face to face piano entertainers taking audience requests. Interaction, singalongs, hand clapping and witty banter are all integral parts of the show.

Yes. PianoFactor performances are designed to work across a wide range of events and spaces — from weddings and private parties to corporate events, venues and large-scale public functions.

Because the setup is self-contained and flexible, it can be positioned in venues and rooms where traditional bands or staged acts wouldn’t work. The entertainer adapts the performance style, energy and interaction to suit the event, the guests and the environment on the night.

Whether you’re hosting an intimate celebration or a high-energy event with hundreds of guests, the focus is always the same: creating the right atmosphere for the room and keeping people engaged from start to finish.

Interaction sits at the heart of every PianoFactor performance, but it’s always professionally led and instinctively judged.

Guests are encouraged to make requests, sing along and get involved naturally, without any obvious pressure. The entertainers read the room, gauge how engaged people want to be, and build participation at the right pace for the event.

Our prices vary depending on the line-up you decide on. The quickest way to get an accurate idea of costs is to use our online quote tool.

We provide the piano entertainers, baby grand pianos, professional sound system and lighting, music for the breaks, request slips and pens, full setup and breakdown, and the live performance itself as standard. The Duelling Pianos show is designed to slot straight into your event without unnecessary complexity.

Travel expenses are not included.

Special requirements such as extended performance time, unusual logistics or access involving stairs may incur additional costs.

Overnight accommodation for long-distance events may also be required.

To check any additional expenses, use our online quote tool for an instant online estimate.

PianoFactor Duelling Pianos setups are compact and designed to work in a wide range of venues.

For the Duelling Pianos, a clear area of approximately 5.0m x 2.5m is typically sufficient. This allows us to work comfortably while keeping the setup contained and unobtrusive within the room.

Every setup is carefully planned to ensure excellent sound, a clean professional look, and safe, tidy cabling with minimal impact on guest movement. If your venue has limited space or an unusual layout, we’re always happy to advise in advance so everything runs smoothly on the day.

Availability varies depending on the time of year, location and event type, but popular dates — particularly weekends and peak seasons — tend to book up well in advance.

That said, PianoFactor regularly accommodates both early planners and last-minute bookings where availability allows. Because the setup is self-contained and professionally managed, we’re able to respond quickly once details are confirmed.

The best way to secure your date is to check availability online, which takes just a few seconds using our availability checker and provides a clear next step with no obligation.
